Where Would YOU Draw the Line?
Mark 10 July 2008 on your calendars.
There is still enough time, but it is running out.
The Singapore Law Review is organising its first International Writing Symposium, and we want your essays to be a part of it. The topic for the IWS is “Discrimination and the Law - a Help or a Hindrance?” Submissions on the topic should discuss the state of discrimination in the world today, and the impact that such laws have or will have on the situation as it stands. We are not looking at any particular area of law, but we suggest employment law, criminal law, conflicts of law, all three of them or something else.
Attractive prizes await the best entries of the competition. The top prize is a hefty USD 3,000, one of the highest cash prizes given out for an essay competition in the world. (We do know the value of the dollar is dropping and it’s not our fault, but our Third prize of USD 1,000 is still higher than any top prize given by a competition in Law School) Prize winners will also be considered for publication in the Singapore Law Review journal and offered an optional place in the NUS LLM programme.
We have started to receive entries from places as far away as Canada (McGill actually), so do not miss out on this chance to be a part of this Competition. Since the IWS is to be held every two years, this might be the last chance for some of us to take part, so do not wait! Get cracking!
