Don’t let your questions get in the way of your decision to join the competition! Contact us if you are unsure about any aspect of the competition.
Eligibility
The competition is open only to participants who are full-time undergraduates at the time of the symposium. Even if you were away from your university doing something else, but at the date of the competition you are still considered an undergraduate at your university, you are still eligible.
Sadly, the following groups of students are not eligible:
- LL.M. Students
However, we would gladly accept your essays for consideration for publication in the Singapore Law Review journal itself. Visit the SLR website to find out more about this.
Minimum Requirements?
Other than that stated already on the website, we do not require participants to have a minimum GPA. We would be judging based purely on the merits of the entry submitted.
There is no fixed limit as to how many entries a school can send. As long as a participant can get his/her essay endorsed by a member of his school’s law faculty or equivalent, the essay is a good submission, at least in this regard.
Unfortunately this competition only accepts entries in the English language. We do however recognise the international nature of the competition and that many participants may not use English as their first language. Nevertheless we would be looking for legibility and clarity in putting forth your ideas as far as language is concerned.
Do read the Rules and Regulations if you are unclear about any aspect of the competition. Contact us if you are still unclear or need clarifications. Good luck at your essay and we will be looking forward to the moment we receive them!
